Day 20 - July 17 - Rest Day in Fort Qu'Appelle

I sleep in until 7 this morning and it feels great! No waking up at an ungodly hour getting my tent down and packing food for another day on the road. When this trip is divided into the segments between rest days, it seems to go faster. Although, on second thought, I'm not sure if that's such a good thing.

I see the shadow of a squirrel moving slowly in between the tent and the fly, pressing against the tent wall as it comes toward the door. I make sure the door is fully zipped and carry on with putting in my contacts. I peer through the mesh lining at the intruder and he bolts. I suppose a hungry squirrel with a nose for Power Bars could easily chew through my tent. Somehow I remain unconcerned as I have grown accustomed to wildlife.
