Day 37 - August 3 - Wawa to Pancake Bay  157km

I don't feel well this morning, not in the least. The burger is like a rock in my gut, keeping me from getting up the hills the way I normally do and dragging me down all day. It takes me all morning to work off what I ate last night. Protein is usually a good thing when I'm cycling (precisely why peanut butter is so popular on the Tour), but I took my protein intake to the max last night and that clearly results in poor performance.

There are some beautiful views of the lakes along the way. And a few big hills to vary the terrain a bit. There are hardly any stores on this route; there is a 90km stretch of nothing. It is a long, hot day for me as I slowly cover the required distance with no motivation to push myself beyond whatever it takes to just get there. I want nothing more than to reach my destination and let this day come to a close.

Provincial parks have great showers. That's at least one thing you can count on. Shower quality at the privately-owned parks can vary. Some call for shoes, as well as a high tolerance for cold water. These showers are nice and clean. The perfect end to a not-so-perfect day.
